TILED DADO IN THE KITCHEN BARN
With far too many tiles, I started looking for uses. And decided that some dado rails in the kitchgen barn would do. So I had Paul at West BS chamfer some two by two and put up a rail on which the tiles could sit. The wiring for the lights and sockets runs round the wall at the junction between the wall and the roof. Then some two by two by one pse covered by oddments of wood allows a lampshade at the top and a socket at the bottom.
Above the doorway is my attempt at a flag of England in tile. The wall was a mixture of brick and stone, so the flag is somewhat uneven, as can be seen, almost, in the right hand picture above the lampshade, where one particular stone stuck out somewhat.
In the middle of the room are the kitchen cupboards I built earlier, waiting for a builder to come to do the kitchen floor.
